May is for Mary

Mary, the Mother of God, plays an important part in the life of a priest (as she should for all faithful Catholics!). Mary is a second mother to a priest. She wraps her arms around us, keeps us safe from impurity any morality, and pleads to Christ, the High Priest, on our behalf, as we live out the privilege of administering the Sacraments and serving the people of God.

It brings me great joy to say the Rosary every day. The saying of the Rosary tightens our relationship with Mary on earth, and even more so for heaven. Her kindness to me, her maternal blessings, the protection, She provides, all combine to help me on my Pilgrim Way.

May is the month for Mary. We renew our devotion to Her and strengthen our praying of the Rosary for the salvation of souls, and for peace and mercy to grow in our world. So, take the time to say the Rosary and pray for our nation and the world. Pray also for our Church: particularly for me, and all of our leaders; for our parish – St Joseph – and for Christians everywhere. Thank you Blessed Mother, Mary!
