Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

The process for becoming Catholic as an adult is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA.

Each RCIA session begins in September and concludes the following Spring. Participants meet as a group on Sunday mornings to learn about and discuss the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Members of the RCIA class who successfully complete the program are fully received in to the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, which Is the Saturday evening preceding Easter Sunday.

Adults who have not yet received their Sacraments of First Communion and Reconciliation are also welcome to join the RCIA class in order to prepare for these Sacraments of Initiation.

RCIA is ideal for anyone who...

  • Is interested in becoming Catholic
  • Was never baptized
  • Was baptized in another Christian denomination
  • Has life questions
  • Is doubting the faith or searching for more
  • Wants to explore the Catholic Faith
  • Is looking for Community
  • Wants to grow closer to Jesus
  • Wants to belong to the Church Christ founded
  • Wants to receive the fullness of Christianity - the way Jesus intended!

This year St. Joseph's would like to invite anyone to attend RCIA classes, even those already practicing, who are interested in recharging their Catholic Faith.

Please prayerfully consider signing up. Sessions start in late September. Those interested should contact the Parish office, or can email Deacon Dennis at dennis@holianins.com
