Lent is here

Lent is here

This Wednesday begins the Lenten season for 2023. Ash Wednesday starts off with two masses on the day: 8 AM and 7 PM. Starting with Ash Wednesday, the church provides 40 days to give up some thing, sacrifice for someone, increase charity, and fast and pray, for both body and soul!

Lent also allows us the grace to go to Confession, maybe, for the first time in a long time. Look at the next page of the bulletin, and our Lenten mailer, for the different event times and days. There will be Lenten talks, Adorations, extra times for Confessions, Stations of the Cross, communal soup suppers, and many more opportunities to increase your faith and sharpen your souls in time with Christ’s will.

Make this Lenten season a great time for greater prayer, devotion, fasting, and charity. See if there are challenges in your life that carry over from last year’s Lent. Whatever you do, don’t give up. If you fall, get back up on the horse, and stick with it.

Remember, the Lord doesn’t propose what is impossible, but what is possible, if you keep Him at your side!
