Today, we celebrate with our second graders, their First Communion. It is an opportunity for you and me to renew our commitment to the Eucharistic Christ and reaffirm our belief that when we go to Communion we are receiving the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. What a miracle, what a treasure!
We, also, kick off the month of May to our Blessed Mother. Her statue will remain up for our edification and reverence. Always remember that Mary points to Jesus. Yet, we can always rely on her maternal protection. She can and does intercede on our behalf to her Son. She will also help us in the time of temptation and need; willingly wrapping her loving mantle of protection around us.
So, I ask two things of you: one, pray for our First Communicants and their parents to be strong in the practice and love of the Faith. Two, ask Mary to help and assist you and your family and friends through trials, tribulations and sicknesses. She stands ready to bring our needs to Christ!
