We enter into the holiest of weeks, what is called Holy Week. Entering into the Passion (suffering), Death and Resurrection our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, binds us to the Holy Cross, both an instrument of death and the vehicle to our salvation. All these days invite us to enter more deeply into the mysteries of our Faith. It provides answers to questions about our worth to God and how He never gave (nor gives) up on us.
I want to encourage you to make time for these special and holy days. Deepen your faith and through these events, come to realize our eternal destiny: Heaven gained through the Cross and the Resurrection!
*Holy Thursday Mass: 7:00 p.m. We celebrate the necessity of the Holy Priesthood and the value of the Holy Eucharist as the high point of our spiritual life.
*Good Friday Service: 3:00 p.m. Here we celebrate the beauty and power of the Holy Cross. This is the only day of the year in which no Mass is celebrated anywhere in the world. We honor Christ who died for me!
*Holy Saturday: 7:00 p.m. This is the first of the Easter Masses. It is also the longest with extended readings which highlight our salvation history. The candlelight ceremony to begin the Mass is most beautiful. This Mass fulfills your Easter obligation.
*Easter Sunday: 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. These Masses, together with Holy Saturday Vigil Mass, are the high point, the summit, of our Holy Faith. Jesus rose from the dead—Alleluia! We come in our finest in response to the finest of gifts: Heaven!
I hope you’ll come to all these special events. It will deepen your appreciation for our Faith and your love for God.
