Some Encouragements

I often get asked, “How can I get more holy and deepen my relationship with Jesus?”  St. Joseph Parish offers many ways to strive in this very way.

1) Daily Mass—What a great way to start the day.  I encourage you to try and come.  8:00 a.m. Mass is offered.  If your obligation to be at work doesn’t allow for this, the bulletin has the Bible readings for each day for your edification

2) Confessions—What a great way to refresh our souls and be at peace with God and our neighbor.  Confessions are:

-Saturdays from 4-4:30 p.m.

-First Friday of every month after Mass until all heard

-First Saturday of every month after Mass until all heard

-2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month during the

Holy Hour for Vocation from 7-8:00 p.m.

3) Holy Hour for Vocations—Held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month.  This is a great way to adore our Lord in the Holy Eucharist with Exposition, Rosary, Confessions, and Benediction.  Come for part or all of the hour and pray for more priests to serve the Church.

4) St. Peregrine Devotion—Held at the 8:00 a.m. First Saturday Mass.  This Litany is for those who we know have cancer or if we are suffering from some ailment.  In addition to the Litany, reverencing the Relic of St. Peregrine is also done.

5) First Friday Holy Hour—Every First Friday of the month is Adoration, Confessions and time for silent reflection with our Lord.  It concludes with Benediction.  This is a great time to pray for family, friends, or co-workers who have need of our Lord to bring them comfort.

I hope these many opportunities will draw you to our Lord into a deeper friendship with Him.  With effort and prayer we will grow holier and closer to Him.
