1st Sunday of Advent

I can’t believe that the Advent Season is upon us!  It must be a consequence of growing older, but, time seems to be really moving fast.  These Advent days are a great way to prepare for Christmas.  This Advent is a wee bit shorter.  So, there will be less days to “get ready”.  Be sure to get to Confession this Advent—even if there is not anything super bad.  It’s always good to refresh our souls as we prepare for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I recommend that a calm spirit, and a sense of joy pervade this Advent preparation.  Don’t let the hustle and bustle, or outside pressures rob you of a great holiday season.  Enclosed with the bulletin is an Advent preparation pamphlet that helps you and your family to prepare and celebrate Advent and Christmas.  I hope you find it helpful and spiritually edifying.

Let us pray for each other this holy season.  May our hearts swell with eager anticipation, making a fresh place for our Savior to find a home this Christmas.  Never doubt that “God is with us!”
